The yoga life swap

Yoga has introduced me to meditation, which I found very, very difficult in the beginning. I have to say, I'm finding it a little bit easier, because I found you don't have to practice just one type of meditation.

There are several types of meditation. There's walking meditation, reading meditation, visualization, meditation, breath work meditation and more. There's the one type we're all familiar with, being still and being in a quiet space, and maybe even in nature, which I find absolutely gorgeous type of meditation.  So all these varied types are all very important, and you don’t need to just choose one. All of these varieties of meditation are very important in my life.

A journey beyond yoga, or life beyond yoga

So how has yoga changed my life? I know this sounds very cliche, but it has

changed my life in a way that I didn’t expect. I don't get as anxious anymore. I don't panic anymore, and I try not to overthink anymore. I still procrastinate a small bit, but not as much as I used to.

Yoga has changed our family
Yoga has changed our family

My kids give out to me when I say “Take a few breaths, breathe it in, then release and let it go”. They say “Mom, stop being yoga mom and be our mom”. So I try to balance both, not trying to drill it into them too much, or talk about it too much, or to over talk about the yoga and the breathing too much with them. I try to introduce it to them gently, and I have found that it has changed my life, my family's life, my family dynamic. It has changed everything; it has just simply calmed us down.

Yoga and meditation have relaxed us things for all of us.  I look, really look, at today and plan for today. While owning  your own business forces you to plan ahead and for other days, I tend to just take day by day and enjoy the moment as much as I can possible.
